Little Moments

Last night I took Heber up to his room to begin the task of getting him to sleep at a reasonable time. We finished our third story and I could tell he was tired. I shut off his lamp and gave him kisses. He reached his little arm around my neck and pulled me in like he was going to reciprocate. The little tease!!! He loves to play and joke and delights in the reaction he gets from mom and dad when we realize the kiss is not really going to happen. I could not help but giggle as his eyes were literally only half open but he was still trying to play.

I finally composed myself enough to sing. Thank-you to Great Grandpa/Grandma Kunz, the song Love At Home has become a staple in my life. I like to sing it to Heber at bedtime each night. He laid there all snuggled up under the covers, barely awake, and sang the whole song with me. My giggles turned into tears. It was all I could do to finish. I am grateful for these little moments when he actually lets me feel like I am doing something Right.

Hey girl,
I am so glad to see your post. It made me cry. How do they know when we need these moments? I was wondering if you dropped off the earth. I kept checking your blog, but you hadn't posted for awhile. I miss you so much. When are you coming home? I need to call you and catch up. I have so much to tell you. My last day at my job is tomorrow, so I might have time now to chat...I will call you soon.
Love ya
